Jobs and Careers skills
Jobs and Careers Skills-md for Claude, Codex & AI Agents
Jobs and careers skills are SKILL.md files that turn Claude, Codex and other AI agents into a careful job-search assistant. They find fresh, verified roles every day without repeats or scams, check which remote and international roles you can actually take, write the strongest truthful CV and cover letter for each job you pick and optimise your LinkedIn profile for recruiter search. Every skill works from your own career and search profiles, so the agent uses your facts, not invented ones.

Run a daily search for new roles that fit the user: three qualifying routes (remote, senior home-country roles at strong employers, sponsored roles abroad), an affordability gate, ATS-first searching with verification on the employer's own page, freshness and repeat logs, scam checks, ranking, compact or detailed lists and a scheduled-task setup.
Job Fit Evaluation
job-fit-evaluation · job search · 1,652 words
Evaluate one job posting before writing a CV: deal-breaker gates for work rights, location, level, pay and hard requirements, an evidence map against the career profile, stretch, fit or overqualified level, legitimacy checks, weighted scoring only after the gates, A to F grades with clear decisions and an application plan.
CV Writer
cv-writer · applications · 2,608 words

Cover Letter Writing
cover-letter-writing · applications · 1,863 words
Write cover letters that earn their place: the employer's real need, an angle (problem, domain, transition, referral or product), two or three pieces of real evidence from the user's career profile, light verified company research, a 3 to 5-paragraph structure, short and email versions, variants for career changes, referrals and gaps, and regional norms.
LinkedIn Profile Optimiser

Networking and Referral Outreach
networking-referral-outreach · applications · 1,574 words
Plan and write outreach that gets replies: choosing contacts from former colleagues to hiring managers and alumni, brief research, one clear ask per message, short LinkedIn and email templates, a forwardable referral note, one polite follow-up, thank-yous and a contact log.
Remote and International Jobs
remote-international-jobs · career moves · 1,903 words
Find and win remote and international work the user is eligible for: decoding eligibility wording, classifying roles as eligible, ask first or not eligible, employee, EOR, contractor and relocation setups, recruiter questions, like-for-like pay comparisons, tax and contract questions for professionals, visa routes via official sources and remote-job scam checks.
No skill matches that search. Clear it or choose All.
What job and career skills do for an AI agent
Ask a general AI model to help with a job search and you usually get two things: a list of job-board links, many of them old or repeated, and a CV full of polished claims you cannot prove. Recruiters spot both quickly. Inflated CVs also fall apart at interview or during background checks.
These skills work differently. The daily search goes to the employer's own applicant tracking system, confirms each role is live and recent, checks a log so nothing repeats, removes scams and roles that fail your deal-breakers, then ranks what is left and adds a salary estimate. The CV Writer maps every requirement in the job description to a real line in your career profile before it writes a word, changes the framing to fit the role but never the facts, and tells you plainly where you are a weak fit.
Job search, applications and career growth
The set covers finding roles, judging fit, writing applications, interviews, offers and career moves. You stay in control: the skills prepare, you decide and you apply.
Where to start: set up your two profiles
Both live skills run from files you write once and keep up to date. A job search profile lists the titles you want, where you can work, your right to work, the minimum pay you accept, platforms to skip and how many roles you want each day. A career profile holds every role, official title, date, result, tool and qualification you can prove, plus any facts still to confirm.
With those in place, run daily-job-opportunities each morning, or set it as a scheduled task, then send the roles you pick to cv-writer. Both skills include the exact templates for these files and work from a plain CV if you have nothing else yet.
The 13 skills in this set, and the rules behind them
Thirteen skills are planned for this set. Seven are live now; the rest follow.

The rules behind these skills
| Rule | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| One career profile is the source of truth | Every CV and answer uses the same verified facts |
| Every claim maps to evidence | No invented metrics, titles or tools that fail at interview |
| Deal-breakers before scores | A role that fails on eligibility or pay never ranks highly |
| Employer pages, not job boards | Links are live, dated and direct |
| Never repeat a role | A log stops the same job appearing twice |
| You approve every application | Nothing is submitted without your explicit pick |
Example prompts
Each skill triggers on everyday wording. These prompts are good starting points:
- Daily roles: “Find me new remote product marketing roles in Europe posted this week.”
- Scheduled search: “Set up a daily job list for 7:30 every morning.”
- Visa roles: “Find data analyst jobs in the UK with visa sponsorship.”
- Tailored CV: “Here is the job description. Tailor my CV.”
- CV and letter: “CV and cover letter for numbers 2 and 5.”
- JD analysis: “Analyse this JD before I apply.”
- Career change: “I am moving from teaching to instructional design. Write my CV for this role.”
What the agent needs from you
Good job search work depends on facts only you have. The most useful inputs are:
- Your latest CV: the starting point for the career profile.
- Results with numbers: growth, savings, volumes, team sizes and timeframes.
- Your eligibility: where you can legally work, and whether you need sponsorship.
- Your pay floor: the minimum you would accept, in your currency.
- Your preferences: English variant, CV length, file type and anything you never want written.
If something is missing, the skills ask only questions that would change the result, and list facts to confirm instead of guessing.
What an agent cannot do, and myths to ignore
An agent can search, verify, write and check, but it cannot vouch for a company's hiring intentions, guarantee an interview or replace your judgement about which jobs are right for you. Some sites block automated access, and scheduled runs may lack a browser, so the skills state which checks they could not complete.
| Myth | What the evidence says |
|---|---|
| Bots reject 75% of CVs | Recruiter interviews found most ATS setups do not auto-reject; the figure traces to an unsourced 2012 sales pitch |
| Two-column CVs and PDFs never parse | Modern parsers handle clean layouts and PDFs; clarity matters more |
| Stuff every keyword in | Recruiters see keyword walls; use the employer's words only where true |
| Apply whenever | Applying early, in the first few days, makes review more likely |
| A bigger title always helps | Titles that fail verification can cost an offer |
Frequently asked questions
Can AI write my CV without inventing things?
Yes, with the CV Writer skill. Every claim must map to a line in your career profile or a fact you confirm, and gaps are reported rather than hidden.
Does the daily job skill apply for me?
No. It finds and verifies roles and sends you a list; you choose which to apply for.
How does it avoid sending the same job twice?
It reads a shortlist log before every search and drops any role whose link, job ID or company and title match one already sent.
Which job sites does it search?
Applicant tracking systems such as Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and SmartRecruiters directly, plus company careers pages, with job boards used only for discovery.
Does an ATS reject CVs automatically?
Usually not. Recruiter research found most systems store, search and rank CVs while people make the decisions.
How do I schedule a daily job search?
Create a daily scheduled task in Claude, Codex or another agent with the prompt template included in the Daily Job Opportunities skill.
Are these skills free?
Yes, under CC BY 4.0, as long as you credit Afeez Adebayo and link to the source page.
Will more job skills be added?
Yes. Six more are planned: job search strategy, career profile, application tracking, interview preparation, salary negotiation and career change.
