Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data afeezadebayo.com collects, why, how long it is kept, who it is shared with and what you can ask me to do with it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
Who is responsible for your data
I am Afeez Adebayo. I run this website from Lagos, Nigeria, and I decide how and why your personal data is used, which makes me the data controller for it.

This is a personal site. There is no company behind it, no advertising network on it and no data broker receiving anything from it.
The short version
- I collect your first name, your email address and, on download forms, which of four descriptions fits you.
- You only get the newsletter if you ask for it. Downloading a template or a skill pack without ticking the newsletter box gets you the file and nothing else.
- I never sell, rent or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can ask me to delete everything at any time.

The “which description fits you” question exists so the examples I send match your work. A founder and a student need different examples of the same idea. You can skip it by emailing me for the file instead.
What I do not collect
- No payment card details. This site sells nothing, and any paid work is invoiced separately.
- No special category data: nothing about health, religion, politics, ethnicity, sexuality or trade union membership.
- No advertising or cross-site tracking pixels, and no data sold or shared with advertisers or brokers.
- No automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects for you.
Emails I send
Subscribers get one newsletter every other week: a single practical idea on SEO, AI search, lifecycle and CRM, paid media or growth, with the numbers behind it.
If you downloaded something and opted in, you may also get a short series tied to that download, such as seven lessons over fourteen days for the AI Search Visibility template. That series runs once and then stops.
Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and the one-click unsubscribe header that Gmail, Yahoo and Microsoft require of bulk senders. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
Emails include standard open and click measurement. To block open tracking, turn off automatic image loading in your email app. Clicks are measured through a tracked redirect, which you can avoid by visiting the site directly.
If you stop opening and clicking for an extended period, I send a short check-in, and then remove you. This protects deliverability and means I am not writing to people who no longer want to hear from me.
Cookies and browser storage

Google Analytics loads only after you interact with the page, or a few seconds after it loads, and IP addresses are truncated before storage. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, by blocking cookies in your browser, or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal, which I honour. The site works fully without analytics.
Where your data is stored and who can see it
Your form submissions and email preferences are stored inside this website’s own WordPress installation, using Fluent Forms and FluentCRM, on servers run by my web host. They are not held in a third-party email marketing platform.
Only I have administrative access. Nobody else reads your submissions.

Where data moves outside your country, including transfers from the UK or EU to Nigeria or the United States, the providers above rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
I will name my email sending service here once it is in place, and update the date at the top of this page.
Beyond those providers, I disclose personal data only where the law requires it, such as a valid order from a court or regulator, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and under the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation where they apply to you, you can ask me to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you, and receive a copy.
- Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your data, where there is no legal reason for me to keep it.
- Restrict how I use it while a dispute about accuracy or legitimate interest is resolved.
- Object to any use based on legitimate interest, including an absolute right to object to direct marketing.
- Port your data to yourself or another provider in a common machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
Email hello@afeezadebayo.com. I respond within 30 days, usually far sooner, and these requests are free. If a request is clearly unfounded or repetitive, I may explain why I am charging a reasonable fee or declining, and you can challenge that.
If you are not satisfied with my response, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng), to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), or to the supervisory authority in your own country.
If you are in California
I do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and I have not done so in the preceding twelve months. You have the right to know what is collected, to delete it, to correct it and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Use the same email address above.
Children
This site is for working professionals and students of marketing. It is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has signed up, email me and I will delete the record.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, forms carry spam protection, administrative access is limited to my own account and protected by a strong unique password, and software is kept up to date. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, I will notify you and the relevant regulator within the timeframes the law requires, which is 72 hours under the GDPR.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to other websites, including GitHub, Google Docs, LinkedIn and tools I recommend. Once you follow one of those links, that site’s own privacy policy applies. I have no control over how they handle your data.
Changes to this policy
When the way I handle data changes, I update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, such as a new purpose for your data or a new processor, I will email subscribers before it takes effect. Material changes that rely on consent will not apply to you until you agree to them.
