Growth strategy consultant
I build the growth model that shows which stage of the funnel limits revenue, then turn it into a roadmap with owners and targets. At Formplus, organic grew from under 5% to 57% of sign-ups.
What I do
The growth model
I map the funnel from acquisition to revenue, with the metric and the current conversion rate at each stage. Then I find the stage where an improvement moves revenue most. At Formplus, paid search was too expensive to win against Typeform and SurveyMonkey, so the plan had to earn its page views.
Choosing channels in order
Channels are added in order of proven return. At Formplus that meant organic search first, and monthly organic traffic grew from 20K to 1M in two years, ahead of the paid channels.
Roadmap, owners and targets
Strategy becomes a roadmap with an owner, a metric and a target for each bet. At Grey the SEO roadmap is tied to management's target of 200k monthly sign-ups by Q1 2027, with organic delivering 80%. That is a target, not a result.
Experiments and review
Each bet has a written hypothesis and one decision. Wins become default flows. At Ecobank, an activation workflow lifted deposits from new customers by 24% against Q1 2023, and the attribution pipeline from acquisition to activation cut drop-offs by 18%.
How I work
- 1
Map the funnel
List acquisition, activation, retention, revenue and referral, with the metric and current conversion rate at each stage.
- 2
Find the constraint
Use cohort and funnel data to find the one stage where improvement moves revenue most.
- 3
Pick the bets
Score ideas on impact, confidence and effort, and keep only the few that fit the constraint.
- 4
Set owners and targets
Give every bet an owner, a metric, a baseline and a date, so progress can be checked.
- 5
Review each quarter
Keep what worked as a default flow, drop what did not, and move to the next constraint.

Questions
What is a growth strategy?
It is a plan for which part of the funnel to improve first, how, and by how much. It names the model behind revenue, the channels and experiments in order of expected return, and the owner and target for each. Without it, teams run many small tests that never add up.
How do you build a growth model?
I list the stages from acquisition to revenue and referral, then add the metric and current conversion at each. Cohort and funnel data show where users drop. The stage that costs the most revenue becomes the first bet. If the data is thin, I say so and start with the cheapest measurement.
How long does a growth strategy take to show results?
It depends on the channel. Lifecycle and onboarding changes can show in weeks. Organic search took Formplus about two years to go from under 5% to 57% of new sign-ups. I set leading indicators for each bet so progress is visible before revenue moves, and I do not promise a date.
How is growth strategy different from marketing strategy?
Marketing strategy usually covers audience, message and channels. Growth strategy also covers activation, retention and revenue, and works across product, marketing and data. Often the biggest win is not more traffic but better activation or retention, so the plan follows the funnel, not the channel list.
What do you need to get started?
Access to analytics, the product funnel and current channel spend, plus the revenue target. A free call is enough to decide whether a fuller audit is worth doing. If tracking is missing, fixing that comes first, because a strategy built on guesses cannot be reviewed.
