On-page SEO and search intent consultant
I make every page match what the searcher came for: the right page type, a title that names the query and headings that answer it. Topship's route pages reached page one this way.
What I do
Search intent mapping
I read what the results page rewards: who ranks, which page types win and how people phrase the query. For schemes of work, the top results were general portals with one long post, which left room for a page per class and subject.
Titles, metas and headings
I write titles that name the query, a meta description that earns the click, and one H1 with H2 and H3 headings beneath it. Topship's route titles stayed under 55 characters and named the route.
Page templates and depth
I set what every page must contain: copy depth, structure and calls to action. Each Topship route page carried over 800 words of practical copy.
Intent-led next steps
I put the next step where the reader's intent leads. Syllabus.ng teachers wanted to print schemes of work, so every subject page offers a free read and an emailed PDF.
How I work
- 1
Read the results
Search the target query and note who ranks, which page types win and what searchers expect to find.
- 2
Match the page type
Choose one page type per intent: a hub for a head term, a page for each long-tail variation, and never two pages for one query.
- 3
Write to a template
Set the title, H1, headings, depth and calls to action once, then fill each page with its own detail.
- 4
Check the page
Run a pre-flight on every page: title and meta length, one H1, headings in order and no repeated target query.
- 5
Review with data
Read Search Console for queries, impressions and clicks. Pages with high impressions and low click-through get title tests first.

Questions
What does on-page SEO include?
Everything on the page that tells searchers and search engines what it answers: title, meta description, headings, copy, internal links, images and schema. I set these in a template, so each page is complete before it is written, and I check them against the query the page is meant to win rather than against a generic checklist.
How do you work out search intent?
I search the query and read the results: which page types rank, how deep they go and what they offer next. For schemes of work, the top results were general portals with one long post, so Syllabus.ng got a hub per class and a page per subject. The results page is the evidence, so I do not guess.
How long should a title tag be?
I keep SEO titles between 50 and 60 characters and put the main query near the front. Topship's route titles stayed under 55 characters and named the route. Google can rewrite titles, so I also check which versions appear in Search Console before judging a change.
How do you stop pages competing for the same query?
Each page gets one primary query and one intent before it is written, recorded in a plan. When two pages chase the same query, I merge them or give each a different angle. On Syllabus.ng, class hubs target head terms and subject pages target the long tail, so they do not overlap.
Will better on-page SEO lift my rankings?
It can improve how well a page matches a query, but no one can guarantee rankings. I report leading indicators instead: impressions, click-through rate and queries per page in Search Console. Pages with many impressions and few clicks get title and meta tests first.
